Unlike lower life forms that share the world with us, we always carry this understanding that human beings does not have any natural predator as we're at the top of the food chain (another fallacy perhaps). No, human beings does have a predator. But only the normal humans among us has them.
They're called 'psychopath', or in esoteric term, "failed organic portal"1 (go here and here for those who are esoterically inclined), and the phenomenon which they had inflicted on our world at large is called 'psychopathy' or 'ponerization'.
(The term is not only confined to psychopathic murderers and killers. They're only in the minority of the psychopath "class".)
Now these psychopaths are very dangerous because they do not have a quality that makes the species we called human beings "human". They lacked conscience and empathy, and a whole range of other human emotions.
What makes these psychopaths even more dangerous is they have another group of people who follow their orders and carry out their biddings. Lackeys, if you will. There's also a term to refer to them - 'Authoritarian Followers' or 'secondary psychopath'. These 'followers' are dangerous in their own ways as most seem to not possess a conscience too. Or they may have one but they do not use their minds to think or their hearts to feel. They followed orders blindly from the psychopath in power without questioning. Witness policemen beating an innocent, defenseless man and you will understand they're followers blindly doing what the powers that be asked them to do.
These empty, soulless group of people dressed-in-a-suit will never give up their power easily. They will resort to fear and force if necessary to hold on to their grip of power. The only way to win over them is to expose them for what they are - empty, soulless, predatorial, conscienceless humans that is different from normal humans.
Watch the video to get the basics on what (or who) are these psychopaths. No rose-tinted glasses please. Leave the idealism behind- we can be idealistic but it is necessary to see the world sans the idealism.
If after watching the video, you still come to the conclusion that this is all nonsense and there is no such thing as a separate group of humans living among us, well, feel free to think or believe what you want. But if you open your eyes (and mind) and feel that this makes sense given the current world condition that we can witnessed with our own eyes, then a little observation of people around us and a little research on the internet coupled with lots of thoughts about life together with a little soul searching (no pun intended) will help you to connect the dots of the things happening around us.

So, what's the point in knowing all this?
It is not to save the world. We do not want to entertain any delusions of self-grandeur ya. It is not to revolt against the world (but we must revolt against any injustices and an unjust government - that is a different thing). And it is certainly not to save or redeem our souls.
It is to understand the world that we lived in. It is to understand how the world works, and in the process to, perhaps, understand what 'life' is about. It is to know ourselves without being judgmental of others who are different from us (but we must revolt against these psychopaths with extreme prejudice as they are agents of entropy who sow chaos and destruction to the world). And more importantly, it is to help protect ourselves and our loved ones from what is coming.

1 i had spent time trying to reconcile the most basic concept of Psychopathy for those who prefer a logical, common sense approach to events that happened in our physical world with a personal need to explain the subject from a inner perspective. As i first caught up with this phenomenon (psychopathy) from a scientific (psychological) source which explained the worldwide phenomenon of social evil and moved to an esoteric understanding (which i'm still trying to understand) that i assume everyone has to go through the same. But in the end, the need for any reconciliation doesn't arise at all because a person does not have to understand or "believe" any of the esoteric teachings to know that psychopaths exist in all levels of society and the social phenomenon of psychopathy is real. It is already evident all around us. The above Stefan Verstappen's video is already sufficient as an excellent beginner's introduction to the subject.
