Modern Life is Rubbish

“To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage and kindness… The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.” ~ Howard Zinn.

An Ancient Saying...

An ancient chinese sayings...

"If the wrong person uses the right means, the right means work in the wrong way".

This is in sharp contrast to our belief in the 'right' method irrespective of the person who applies it. In reality, everything depends on the person and little or nothing on the method.

Things are sometimes so simple that we failed to see them. Let's say the powers that be of a certain nation announced the abolishment of a certain unjust law. The method (the act of abolishing the unjust law) is certainly commendable. It is the 'right' thing to do. But the method is just a means to an ends. The ends - the abolishment of the unjust law- is of course noble.

But the right method is not used to really repeal the unjust law if, in its place, additional unjust laws are enacted.

Therein lies the problem in the person who 'act' to repeal the unjust law. If he or she is not sincere in repealing this law, then the means in which he took to repeal the law 'works in the wrong way'. It does not matter if the said person is very intelligent, highly educated, dresses smartly, speaks eloquently, or even someone with a great sense of humour.

The problem lies in the very nature of that person itself. And our problem lies in identifying this type of person.

In short, that person is the 'wrong person'. And whatever methods (even if they are the "right methods") s/he uses to achieve this will only work in the wrong way. It will not bring the right result that people really want.

In the end, it will not work at all.
